1Forty captures the resurgence in some of the best underground genres, by showcasing established and upcoming talent, whilst engineering its own sound and identity through the music we release and showcase. Grime, Bass, Garage & UK Funky.
On the 21st October 2016 1Forty launched at one of the biggest nightclub brands in the country.. Mint, Leeds. Welcoming Cause & Affect, Champion & Skepsis alongside a Funktion-One Soundsystem and a state of the art low LED roof there couldn't of been a more fitting venue to capture atmospheres that will live long in the memory. Over the course of 2016-2019 we have welcomed the likes of Cause & Affect, Champion, Skepsis, Oneman, Spooky, Notion, Holy Goof, Slimzee, Killa P, Darkzy, Preditah, Swifta Beater, Sammy Virji, Joker, Sharda, YGG, Window Kid, Bru C & More.
Since the launch of the Record Label and introducing the cycle of Genre Release compilations 1Forty has received coverage across publications including Complex UK, Red Bull, Mixmag, SB.TV, DJ Mag & TRENCH, and regular support on radio across the BBC, Rinse FM, Beats 1 & Reprezent. The first two cycles of Genre Releases saw 1Forty establish itself as one of the UK’s most promising breakthrough underground Labels. The next cycle of releases along with events in 2019 aim to see 1Forty cement their position as one of the pioneering Labels in the UK scene. The recent 1Forty Takeover on BBC Radio 1 w/ Toddla T showed the Label is well on the way to top tier status.
The project that began as a club night in Leeds, has exploded into a powerful movement, bringing UK funky, grime, garage and bass to the masses. The brand, now holds a weighty set of releases under their label and have electrified dancefloors up and down the country with their events, radio show features, and soon to be featured festival appearances.
