When talking up north MC’s Dialect is one of the first on the list. Proving that even though it is difficult to break through as a Grime artist outside the capital it is still very much possible. Known in Leeds for his never give up attitude and relentless workrate he has gone from spitting bars on Briggate High Street to Lord Of The Mic.

Westwood recognised Dialect initially in 2009 giving him a call up to the now legendary series of freestyles on his 1Xtra show. From there he grew his reputation through the UK’s biggest rap battle league Don't Flop and whilst maintaining an interest in the battle circuit, he soon went onto take the more familiar path of a Grime artist, self releasing his own music and shouting his roots throughout his journey giving major platforms no choice but to take notice. With a number of freestyles and music videos featured by SBTV and thus support on 1Xtra he was enlisted for Lord Of The Miss 8 by Jammer in 2019 clashing none other than Jafro. His debut 1Forty Single ‘Best In This’ dropped a couple of weeks prior with fellow Leeds artists Vital Techniques on the buttons.
