LR Groove

LR Groove has been mixing since 1994, initially in Jungle before moving toward UKG and Funky in the 00’s before going on to produce in 2007. Having been born and bred in North London and in and around the scenes for two decades he’s seen both Funky & Garage boom, simmer down and come back around again. In that time working with and receiving support from a number of established artists over the years across both the Drum & Bass and Garage/Funky spectrum in Marcus Nasty, Scott Garcia, Pioneer, B Live, Navigator, Killa P and more.

The last few years have seen LR focus on the tribal side of funky taking masses amount of inspiration from African sounds and his Jungle roots. This has seen his productions release on the likes of Formula Records, Durkle Disco and DJ Mags Best Breakthrough Label 2019 nominee Nervous Horizon amongst others leading to a number of appearances on Rinse FM, Reprezent, Keep Hush, Just Jam as well as a number of shows, one of which being Drymans Funk’d Up events promotion based in Czech Republic where the two met leading to the creation of his debut 1Forty release ‘Life Form’ which released on 1FFNG004 in December 2019.
