Sketchi

1Forty has featured a selection of artists on the Label from its home in Leeds and Sketchi is one of those names. Starting of his journey learning to mix and produce at the age of 14 he gives a lot of thanks to fellow Bass artist, Mikey B. Growing up in the same area of Leeds a musical relationship was born thanks to their shared love for Bass & Grime music and Mikey has been teaching and mentoring Sketchi for some years now.

Taking inspiration from Mikey’s mentorship along with artists he follows such as My Nu Leng, Take Nulight, S.P.Y, Dimension, Enigma Dubz and more it served up a track of which all these names would be proud of in ‘Hands Together’ on 1FBSS003. Performing and experiencing different festivals such as Boomtown, Leeds and Balter Festival and at venues such as Motion, Antwerp Mansion and Digital it has allowed them to incorporate those feelings from those moments into this record. Sketchi bagged his second 1Forty release in a year when he made it two BSS Releases in a row, collaborating with none other than his mentor Mikey B, taking the lead track with ‘Tribal’ on 1FBSS004.
