1Forty has a healthy list of Midlands artists spanning across Grime and Funky, but one genre we hadn’t seen a Midlands artist in up to late 2019 was Bass. Step forward Tenshu. Having started making music in 2014 he put his alias out into the world in 2019, strapped ready with a signature sound ready to show off. Tenshu initially got his foot on the ladder in Leicester, having being one of the stand out residents for one of the UK’s biggest promoters - Beastwang. He has grown alongside the Beastwang brand and gone on to become one of their biggest assets opening the stage for a whole range of A List artists such as Shy FX, Redlight, DJ Zinc, Conducta and loads more over the course of 2017 onwards. This has also led him to feature at Forbidden Forest and their biggest project yet - Forbidden 42.

Earlier this year Beastwang announced the Label arm - Wang Records. Their debut release was from none other than their #1 Resident - Tenshu. This release along with his recently released ‘Storyteller’ Ft My Nu Leng’s front man Dread MC has led him to gain support from My Nu Leng themselves, Bushbaby, Sammy Virji, Zero & more. Taking a lot of inspiration from house, garage, breaks and techno you can hear the authenticity and originality in Tenshu’s music making him one to watch for in the coming months.
