Recognised by the industry as an underground legend for his contributions to UK Garage, Breakbeat and Dubstep Zed Bias continues to push genre boundaries two decades after his best selling Single ‘Neighbourhood’ which is often referred to as one of the all time classic UK Garage tracks, reached #25 in the UK Charts. Initially creating a massive buzz in the underground raves it soon caught the attention of XL Recordings subsidiary Locked On who signed and released the record in 2000. After a whole discography on other works under ‘Maddslinky’ and two Zed Bias LP’s on his Biasonic Label reworking a wide spectrum of club styles from RnB to House, Dancehall to Dubstep to UK Bass/Funky he became critically acclaimed from BBC Radio 1’s pioneering underground DJ’s - Annie Mac, Benji B, MistaJam and Toddla T.
Zed has been consistently flying the flag for Manchester over the years both because of his own workrate and output, and through working with a host of other artists more often than not from the 0161. He also has numerous solo releases under his belt with Labels besides his own, such as Swamp81 and Exit Records further cementing his reputation as one of the most forward thinking producers the UK has seen. The release prior to ‘Dance Dun’ saw a track as part of Idris Elba’s ‘The Yardie Mixtape’ which was explained by Idris himself as a “Love letter to the UK scene” handpicking artists and producers who have the underground and soundsystem culture ingrained in their music. With ‘Dance Dun’ being the follow up it is just another instance of Zed’s consistency to deliver at the highest level across any given underground genre serving it up on a plate for Slay and Trigga to create another anthem straight out of Manchester.
